More About IWM

Training Leaders
Since its inception nearly twenty years ago Integrity Music (a for profit company) has received constant and insistent requests to train leaders globally, as its worship recordings have gone to over 160 countries, many where Christian missionaries were not welcome.

In just one example of responding to these requests, Integrity committed to record worship songs in Russian and have them smuggled into the then USSR. The impact of this endeavor has been long lasting and is seen today, fifteen years later, as the Christian church has once again surfaced in Russia and these worship songs are widely employed in the worship of vibrant, new churches. In one case, what began as a four person fellowship worshiping along to an Integrity tape has become a network of 250 churches, each with between 50 and 2,500 worshipers. The multiplicative power of equipping leaders continues to drive IWM’s investment around the world.

Because it isn’t feasible for a for profit company to engage in this type of ministry, leaders from Integrity Music established a non profit entity to provide worship leadership training in the US and around the world in the late 1980’s. In 2002 this same group of leaders further augmented IWM’s strategy in response to God’s call to provide evangelism and compassion ministry support to key global regions.

Integrity Worship Institute
IWM draws upon the expertise of the Integrity Worship Institute in preparing global leaders to fulfill the Great Commission through worship leadership training. At the invitation of its indigenous ministry partners, IWM travels to strategic locations around the world presenting weeklong training seminars. Indigenous leaders are then commissioned to return to their places of influence (local churches) with a renewed passion for leading others to Jesus Christ and making disciples/worshipers of all nations.

“It's really so great and our pleasure to attend the Taipei Worship Training…As a worshipper and minister in Hong Kong, I really feel that our worship needs revival and anointing. It's also a critical time for Hong Kong and Taiwan churches as we both are the gates to enter into China.”
- Olivia Cheng, Minister, Hong Kong

Committed to Ministries of Evangelism
Wherever IWM ministers it is committed to ministries of evangelism and compassion believing these are Biblical mandates that bring glory to God and comfort to people. Additionally, IWM firmly believes that while ministries of evangelism and compassion are key components of outreach, it is the training of indigenous leaders that will have the greatest multiplicative impact on growing the global Body of Christ and most significant return on the investment of individuals and foundations. “…what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (II Timothy 2:2 ESV)

IWM is developing powerful tools that can move through countries now closed to evangelism. In 2002, it established a recording studio in Jordan to facilitate the production of Arabic music and worship recordings in the region. In 2003, IWM produced a worship recording in the Farsi language spoken by millions in Central Asia. In 2005, teaching videos are being completed by ministry partner, Good TV, which will be distributed to Mandarin speakers throughout the world.

Worship Outreach Events
IWM Worship outreach events are held in large international venues, often concurrently with the leadership training weeks. People often travel hours to attend these events where non-believers observe believers in worship and hear a clear presentation of the gospel. Over 2,500 have come to Christ through these events.

Wherever it trains – those who Jesus refers to as, “the least of these.” IWM believes that one of the true evidences of true worship is compassion. Specific efforts include:

  • Housing, food, and clothing to poor families
  • Medical services for the sick who cannot afford them
  • Ministry to orphans and prisoners
  • Ministry to leaders of the persecuted church
  • Ministry to those addicted to drugs and alcohol

Additionally, IWM envisions a concerted effort to include American students, worship leaders and pastors in its outreach efforts for the purpose of cross pollinating the American church with an awareness of challenges faced by church leaders in the two-thirds world.

IWM’s ministry has been embraced around the globe, but is currently constrained by funding resources to further develop the ministry. IWM has a unique and disciplined strategy to reach key nations but needs individuals and foundations willing to invest in the transformation of lives to realize the vision of the prophet Habakkuk: “to see the earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” An investment in Integrity Worship Ministries is an investment in growing disciples in all the nations.
